Valley of Ditches is a genre-driven survival thriller that emphasizes intense conflict over social complexity. The narrative centers on a woman's fight for survival against a captor, highlighting her active role in the story. However, the film lacks depth in representing diverse identities. There is no visible representation of LGBTQ+ identities, racial diversity, or disability, which leaves the social landscape largely unexplored. Ultimately, the film relies on conventional thriller clichés. While it avoids certain gendered clichés, it lacks the systemic commentary or diverse character profiles needed for a higher diversity score.
