New Showbiz Analysis

My Name Is Roscoe centers a white male bartender whose affair with a mob boss’s wife triggers his downfall. The narrative is driven by his apathy and moral indifference, with women and queer identities largely sidelined. Supporting roles feature actors of color, adding some racial diversity, but power and focus remain with white men. The film’s cultural stance is its strongest asset, rejecting conventional morality in favor of nihilistic humor. Overall, representation is uneven. The absence of LGBTQ+ and disability portrayals, plus shallow female characterization, limits its inclusivity despite its bold thematic choices.
