Christmas is approaching, and Paul's adopted sister Alana is coming home for the holidays. This won't be just a regular family celebration, as she's recently engaged and the weekend will be spent planning her June wedding with her best friends Roy and Vicki. Problem is that Roy is Paul's ex-boyfriend, and the two young men haven't seen each other since their very messy breakup. Nervous about seeing his ex again, Roy talks his good friend Gavin into joining him for the weekend, and pretending to be his new boyfriend. When Paul and Gavin meet, sparks of attraction fly, but Gavin thinks Roy's still hung up on Paul. This charming romantic comedy is a funny look at family bonds, misunderstandings and the "perfect wedding

Category Breakdown
LGBTQ+ Representation
The film centers its entire plot on queer romantic dynamics and post-breakup tension. By utilizing a fake-dating trope between same-sex characters, queer identity becomes the primary driver of the emotional stakes.
Gender Representation
The ensemble is relatively balanced, with female characters driving the wedding preparations. However, the central emotional conflicts are navigated primarily by the male protagonists.
Racial & Ethnic Diversity
The narrative appears to focus on a localized, homogeneous social circle. There is no explicit evidence of significant racial blending or non-Anglo-Saxon majority casting.
Religious & Cultural Diversity
The story disrupts traditional holiday expectations by introducing romantic complications that challenge the standard nuclear family model. It prioritizes individual emotional truths over rigid social structures.
Disability Representation
There is no evidence regarding the portrayal of physical or neurodivergent disabilities within the film.

AI Analysis
The film distinguishes itself within the romantic comedy genre by making LGBTQ+ identity the central engine of its narrative. Rather than treating queer characters as background elements, the plot relies on the complexities of same-sex relationships and romantic misunderstandings to create tension. While the film excels in queer representation, it lacks breadth in other areas. The social circle appears homogeneous, suggesting a lack of racial and ethnic diversity. Additionally, there is no visible focus on disability representation. Ultimately, the film succeeds as a character-driven piece that deconstructs traditional social performances. It trades heteronormative tropes for a nuanced look at modern family bonds and queer emotional agency.
