New Showbiz Analysis

Still Friends is a conventional romantic comedy that prioritizes accessible humor over social subversion. The plot centers on interpersonal romantic dynamics, such as infidelity and divorce, within a standard Western framework. While women are central to the various romantic arcs, the film adheres to traditional clichés rather than challenging gender hierarchies. The homogeneous approach suggests typical mid-tier European commercial cinema of this era. Ultimately, the film lacks the intentionality needed to disrupt social hierarchies or provide characters who reflect more than one aspect of diversity, focusing instead on situational ethics and comedic conflict.
