New Showbiz Analysis

The Rift functions as a typical science fiction and horror thriller. While the cast is internationally diverse, the film emphasizes genre-driven tension and speculative mystery over social critique. The production employs a multi-ethnic ensemble, moving beyond a homogeneous Western cast. However, this diversity supports the professional setting of the mission rather than exploring deeper systemic themes. Ultimately, the film adheres to conventional genre structures, focusing on the survival instincts of its characters in a speculative environment rather than deconstructing social hierarchies.
