  • Critiques the idealized sanctity of the nuclear family through a lens of domestic abuse.

AI Analysis

Make Me a Sandwich uses the horror-comedy genre to deconstruct domestic power dynamics. The film's strength lies in its thematic subversion of traditional marital hierarchies and gendered expectations. However, the film lacks intersectional breadth. The narrative is confined to a narrow demographic scope, offering no visibility for LGBTQ+, racial, or disability-related identities. Ultimately, the work functions as a targeted critique of the psychological toll caused by rigid social roles within a domestic setting.
