Sweet Girls is a socio-political commentary that emphasizes generational inequity over diverse identities. Its strength lies in subverting traditional gender roles, with two female protagonists leading a critical look at systemic issues. However, the film lacks visible representation of LGBTQ+ identities and racial diversity. The narrative focuses solely on the conflict between younger and older generations regarding economic survival. Ultimately, the film effectively deconstructs Western economic institutions but falls short in providing a broad spectrum of diverse human experiences beyond its central class-based conflict.

Official Synopsis
Elodie and Marie, two teenage girls in a city where the housing crisis worsens by the day, are faced with a lack of prospects offered by the future, and see their chances of independence gradually disappearing. Elodie and Marie suggest a solution more extreme than not; empty apartments unjustly occupied by the "old" that, in their eyes, are the origin of the current social imbalance. In this journey through the initiatory path of adolescence, they discover that behind their cold calculations, human beings are just as lost they are.
