Synopsis

A mysterious phone. A missing lawyer. An abandoned warehouse. They all help tell a story about Greg Pleasant, a Seattle lawyer who's held back from leading the dynamic life Christ wants him to live because he fears man's opinion of him more than God's. After Greg loses the control he believes he has over his life, an odd client tells him about an old phone that calls back into the past. When faced with the ultimate wake up call, how will he answer? How will you?

Gender Representation

Limited

The story centers on Greg Pleasant, a man struggling with leadership and personal agency. It reinforces conventional roles of spiritual and moral leadership rather than subverting gender hierarchies.

Racial & Ethnic Diversity

Limited

The narrative lacks information regarding a diverse cast. The setting and character profiles suggest a conventional, homogeneous structure following traditional Western demographic norms.

Religious & Cultural Diversity

Christian morality serves as the primary ethical compass for the protagonist. The film prioritizes religious adherence and spiritual conformity over secularism or the critique of Western institutions.

  • There is a lack of representation regarding disability or neurodivergent perspectives.

AI Analysis

Dialtone is a niche independent drama that prioritizes theological themes over sociological critique. The narrative is heavily anchored in traditionalist religious values and established spiritual institutions. Because the story focuses on a singular male protagonist's relationship with Christ, it functions to reinforce rather than disrupt traditional cultural frameworks. The film lacks evidence of intersectional identity or diverse casting. Ultimately, the film's architecture favors singular moral truths and conventional social hierarchies, resulting in a very narrow scope of representation.
