Julien Monnier has a serious problem. Though he's a brilliant couples counselor, he can't keep a woman in his life for more than two weeks. Indeed, ever since his childhood, Julien jinxes every woman who falls in love with him. But it's not just any small jinx. It's the kind that sends you to the hospital several times a week, that destroys your professional life or that turns your friends into enemies. Julien is strictly speaking a true black cat for women. Joanna Sorini will soon learn this at her expense the day she meets him. A career that's just taking off, a love life that finally seems to be taking a good turn, all that may just change.

Category Breakdown
LGBTQ+ Representation
The film lacks LGBTQ+ characters or non-heteronormative identities. The romantic arc is strictly centered on a traditional heterosexual pairing.
Gender Representation
The story follows a male-centric perspective driven by the protagonist's personal struggles. While the female lead is a key catalyst, the film does not actively subvert traditional gender hierarchies.
Racial & Ethnic Diversity
The cast appears largely homogeneous, reflecting a conventional Western urban demographic. There is no evidence of multi-ethnic ensembles or race-bent casting.
Religious & Cultural Diversity
The narrative offers a subtle critique of social institutions and mobility. It explores the friction between individual agency and rigid social frameworks through its central metaphor.
Disability Representation
Disability is not meaningfully explored. The protagonist's 'jinx' serves as a comedic plot device rather than a representation of neurodivergence or chronic illness.

AI Analysis
Second Chance operates primarily as a conventional romantic comedy. It relies on a standard heterosexual narrative structure and a homogeneous cast that reflects traditional Western demographics rather than intersectional variety. While the film lacks significant representation for LGBTQ+ individuals or diverse ethnic groups, it does offer a slight departure from masculine archetypes through the protagonist's vulnerability. The narrative also touches on social mobility and the friction between individuals and institutional structures. Ultimately, the film prioritizes genre tropes over progressive representation. It uses metaphorical misfortune as a comedic engine rather than engaging with real-world issues of disability or systemic marginalization.
