Category Breakdown

LGBTQ+ Representation

Limited

The film lacks explicit LGBTQ+ characters or narratives addressing non-cisnormative identities. The story focuses on a singular psychological struggle rather than queer perspectives.

Gender Representation

Fair

The narrative centers on a male protagonist's crisis of perception. It remains unclear if the film subverts traditional gender hierarchies or reinforces them through its supporting cast.

Racial & Ethnic Diversity

Limited

There is no indication of a diverse or non-Anglo-Saxon majority cast. The film appears to follow a standard thriller structure that defaults to homogeneous casting.

Religious & Cultural Diversity

Fair

The plot explores subjective reality but lacks an explicit critique of Western institutions or organized religion. The conflict remains a personal struggle rather than a systemic critique.

Disability Representation

Fair

The story engages with mental health through a protagonist labeled as delusional. This provides a baseline for disability-adjacent storytelling centered on neurodivergence.

Strengths

  • The film provides a baseline for disability-adjacent storytelling by centering on a character navigating a mental health crisis.

Areas for Improvement

  • The narrative lacks intersectional depth and fails to address diverse racial, ethnic, or LGBTQ+ identities.
  • The story focuses on individual psychological struggles rather than offering a critique of systemic or socio-political structures.

AI Analysis

Ghost Magnet is a genre-driven psychological thriller that prioritizes individual psychological conflict over social or systemic critique. The narrative architecture focuses on the protagonist's personal war of attrition against perceived spirits. While the film touches on themes of mental health and neurodivergence, it lacks intersectional depth. The representation of other identities, including race and LGBTQ+ perspectives, is not documented within the film's framework. Ultimately, the film operates within conventional thriller tropes, offering a character study of perception rather than a disruption of broader cultural hierarchies.
