AI Analysis

When in Rome operates as a conventional romantic comedy that relies heavily on established genre tropes. The story focuses on a centralized, heteronormative pursuit of love, prioritizing escapism over complex character studies. The film lacks the intentionality needed to disrupt social hierarchies or offer intersectional perspectives. Instead, it follows a predictable arc where a Western protagonist navigates magical romantic interventions. Ultimately, the production adheres to standard studio formulas of its era, offering a traditional narrative structure that avoids challenging social or cultural norms.
