New Showbiz Analysis

Montana functions as a genre-driven crime thriller that highlights ethnic diversity. By focusing on a Serbian commando in London's East End, the film embraces a more inclusive urban reality. However, the film remains tied to traditional genre conventions, emphasizing masculine themes such as combat and assassination. This limits the scope of gender representation and excludes LGBTQ+ identities. Ultimately, the film challenges established moral institutions through its characters' ethical codes, while staying within conventional boundaries regarding gender and sexual orientation.
