Smoking Room is a character-driven study of micro-resistance within a small Spanish office. It succeeds as a critique of institutional power, using a smoking ban to highlight the tension between individual ability to act and corporate mandates. However, the film lacks broad demographic breadth, with a heavily male-dominated and racially homogeneous setting that limits its representation of gender and ethnic diversity. Ultimately, the film's value lies in its exploration of situational ethics and social dynamics rather than its demographic inclusivity.
