AI Analysis

Like a Son succeeds in its potential to engage with ethnic complexity and social friction. By centering a Roma youth in a position of agency, the film avoids the trap of depicting marginalized groups as purely passive victims. The narrative's strength lies in its willingness to explore the tension between different social strata. The conflict between a disillusioned teacher and a young aggressor suggests a deep dive into systemic issues rather than simple moralizing. However, the film's scope appears limited in other areas of representation. The focus remains heavily on a male-centric conflict, leaving questions regarding gender and LGBTQ+ diversity unanswered.
