New Showbiz Analysis

Back Soon is a character-driven drama that prioritizes the internal complexity of identity over conventional social scripts. Its primary strength lies in its nuanced exploration of sexual fluidity and the tension between self-perception and reality. The film challenges traditional expectations by focusing on a relationship that defies the protagonists' initial self-identifications. However, the narrative's impact is limited by a lack of visible the way different parts of someone's identity overlap. The focus remains heavily on male protagonists, leaving questions about racial dynamics and female representation unanswered.
