Broken Lullaby functions as a typical mid-90s television drama. It offers moderate ethnic complexity by using international character archetypes and exploring immigrant histories. While the female lead drives the mystery, the interpersonal dynamics often rely on conventional gendered clichés. The film adheres to the traditional storytelling structures common to its era. Ultimately, the work lacks significant representation of LGBTQ+ identities or disability, focusing instead on a Eurocentric, mystery-driven framework.
