New Showbiz Analysis

Waiting for the Storm features a multi-ethnic cast that diverges from the typical monolithic white family seen in domestic thrillers. The inclusion of diverse ethnic backgrounds suggests an effort towards racial representation. However, the film lacks depth in addressing multi-layered themes. There is no evidence of LGBTQ+ representation or subversion of gender hierarchies, making the social impact of the narrative unclear. While the casting is diverse, the film's focus on a high-tension crime drama does not provide sufficient substance to confirm progressive social frameworks.
