Polly Blue Eyes focuses on a female protagonist's struggle against a backdrop of family crime. While it avoids many progressive representation standards, it offers a nuanced look at socioeconomic pressures and moral ambiguity. The film successfully challenges typical crime storylines by emphasizing the internal struggle of social reintegration. However, it remains confined by traditional romantic structures and a lack of diverse identity representation. Ultimately, the film is a character study of individual resilience rather than a broad exploration of diverse social identities.
