13 Graves functions as a typical survival horror film that emphasizes genre clichés over identity politics. The narrative focuses on the external dread of a supernatural force and the physical struggle of contract killers lost in a forest. Because the story centers on a traditional criminal hierarchy and a hunter-versus-prey dynamic, it lacks the subversion of social hierarchies or themes reflecting multiple aspects of diversity. The film adheres to conventional structures rather than exploring diverse character's ability to drive the story.
