AI Analysis
The film excels at subverting traditional maternal roles, replacing passive grief with decisive, transformative action. Thelma’s journey provides a strong study of female agency and emotional fortitude. However, the narrative lacks depth in other diversity sectors. The representation of disability is limited by the protagonist's passivity, and the film does not explore LGBTQ+ identities or significant racial diversity. Ultimately, the film is a character-driven drama that finds its strength in unconventional life paths rather than broad social representation.
