Hidden Away operates as a standard domestic thriller centered on individual survival. While the protagonist's escape from an abusive marriage offers a degree of female empowerment, the film lacks complexity in representing diverse identities. The narrative remains largely confined to traditional social frameworks and genre conventions. The production lacks visible representation of diverse identities, focusing instead on a narrow, straight-centered domestic conflict. This focus, combined with a setting that suggests a homogeneous demographic, limits the film's progressive impact.
