New Showbiz Analysis

The film's diversity is marked by a contrast between progressive gender roles and historical demographic uniformity. While the female lead challenges traditional 18th-century gender norms through her intelligence and strategic role, the rest of the cast remains confined to the norms of the era. The narrative lacks complexity in representing diverse identities, offering minimal representation for LGBTQ+ characters or varied racial backgrounds. It primarily functions as a genre-focused heist drama that prioritizes historical accuracy over modern inclusive casting. Overall, the film offers some progressive value through its female protagonist's active role, but remains a conventional historical piece in its social context.
