New Showbiz Analysis

The Demonic Tapes relies heavily on conventional horror clichés centered on spiritualism and supernatural investigation. While the central character is a woman, the narrative structure follows established patterns of female characters experiencing supernatural trauma. Representation across other identity markers is largely absent or unverified. The film lacks intentional multi-layered storytelling, opting instead for a standard approach to the found-footage genre within a traditional religious context. Ultimately, the film functions as a genre piece that prioritizes metaphysical dread over the disruption of social hierarchies or diverse character perspectives.
