Perfect Strangers is a psychological study of social erosion that focuses on the fragility of established social contracts. It succeeds by dismantling the polished veneers of conventional middle-class life through a high-stakes digital game. The film's strength lies in its critique of social stability and its ability to disrupt traditional interpersonal hierarchies. It uses a closed-room setting to expose the lies and betrayals hidden behind bourgeois facades. However, the film lacks explicit evidence of multi-layered casting or specialized representation for underrepresented identities. The ensemble appears largely homogeneous, prioritizing class-based social dynamics over ethnic or queer diversity.
Category Breakdown
The film explores the exposure of secrets within a tight-knit group. While the central game could reveal non-straight relationships, there is no explicit confirmation of queer characters or same-sex intimacy.
This ensemble drama challenges traditional hierarchies by stripping away digital privacy. The narrative allows female characters to exert a significant role in driving the story through the revelation of secrets, disrupting conventional domestic clichés.
The production reflects a specific Israeli cultural context. However, the ensemble appears socially homogeneous, focusing more on bourgeois routine than on multi-ethnic or diverse representation.
The film deconstructs traditional institutions by framing a standard dinner party as a site of systemic collapse. It challenges the sanctity of the family unit and social bonds.
The narrative contains no mention of characters with visible or invisible disabilities. There is no evidence regarding the inclusion of neurodivergent or physically disabled individuals.

Official Synopsis
Seven childhood friends with a history and shared experiences from their past, meet for dinner to see together a rare lunar eclipse. This bourgeois and routine event takes a turn as they start playing a game that will change their lives: every message, call or alert they receive on their phone is exposed to the eyes of everyone. Betrayals, lies, secrets and accounts that are 20 years old rise and float to the surface and question the long-standing friendships and internal relationships in it.
