Professor Jonathan Rust serves as the male protagonist. While other roles like a teaching assistant exist, there is no evidence of subverting traditional masculine leadership.

Racial & Ethnic Diversity

Limited

Strengths

  • The ensemble cast provides a variety of roles, including a professor, teaching assistant, and hired hand, offering potential for diverse character dynamics.

Areas for Improvement

  • The story relies on conventional social structures and traditional genre tropes rather than subverting systemic hierarchies.

AI Analysis

Beyond the Drumlins follows a traditional expeditionary horror framework. The plot focuses on an academic group navigating a disappearance during an archaeological dig, prioritizing genre tropes over character-driven social commentary. The film lacks specific details regarding the intersectional identities of its cast. This absence of information suggests a reliance on standard genre archetypes rather than intentional narrative subversion. Ultimately, the work appears to prioritize the mechanics of science fiction and horror. It does not currently demonstrate a commitment to disrupting traditional social hierarchies or promoting complex representation.
