New Showbiz Analysis

Unnatural Selection is a mid-90s genre piece that prioritizes suspense and biological horror over social critique. It functions as a standard science-fiction investigation into evolutionary anomalies. The film provides a capable female protagonist in Liz Shaw, offering some degree of gender ability to act. However, the production lacks diverse casting and multi-layered complexity. Ultimately, the narrative adheres to traditional clichés, focusing on mutation and conspiracy rather than challenging established social or cultural hierarchies.
