Synopsis

One evening, a woman enters a police station and confesses to having killed her violent husband several years ago. As she listens to her fantastic story, the policewoman is increasingly less inclined to arrest her. Just why is the woman so eager to confess her crime, and why is the policewoman so reluctant to take her into custody?

AI Analysis

Arrêtez-moi functions as an intimate psychological study that prioritizes character-driven tension over systemic critique. The film succeeds in disrupting traditional gendered authority by centering the internal logic and agency of its female characters. While the narrative effectively subverts the 'crime and punishment' trope, it lacks demographic breadth. The focus remains narrow, centered on a specific domestic and institutional conflict rather than a diverse social tapestry. Ultimately, the film's strength lies in its moral complexity. It replaces objective legalism with a nuanced exploration of subjective truth and female solidarity.
