LGBTQ+ Representation
The film lacks any depiction of non-heteronormative identities or same-sex intimacy. Character dynamics remain strictly within the conventional social frameworks of the 1970s.

The cast is predominantly white, reflecting the standard for mid-budget genre cinema of the era. The Everglades setting hosts a largely homogeneous group of characters.
Religious & Cultural Diversity
The film critiques environmental negligence through its toxic waste plot. However, it follows a traditional man-versus-nature framework rather than engaging in systemic social critiques.
Disability Representation

AI Analysis
Empire of the Ants is a conventional 1970s science fiction piece that prioritizes survivalist tropes over social exploration. The narrative focuses on environmental catastrophe and technical spectacle rather than identity-based storytelling. The film relies on established cinematic hierarchies, featuring a homogeneous cast and traditional gender roles. While it touches on industrial impact via toxic waste, it avoids any progressive deconstruction of social or institutional norms. Ultimately, the work functions as a standard genre exercise, lacking intentionality regarding intersectional representation or diverse character dynamics.
