Razortooth is a typical creature-feature film that emphasizes survivalist clichés over exploring identity. Its narrative structure stays true to mid-2000s genre conventions, focusing on a man-eating eel rather than social commentary. The film lacks significant representation across various categories. The ensemble of college students follows a standard Western model, lacking depth in racial, cultural, and LGBTQ+ perspectives. Overall, Razortooth functions as a straightforward horror film. It avoids complex moral relativism and the disruption of traditional social hierarchies, resulting in a low diversity score.

Official Synopsis
When four college students trek to the Everglades to conduct extra-credit research for their biology professor, they become prey to a huge man-eating eel with nasty incisors that’s been terrorizing a nearby Florida community, based on a true story concerning an exotic species of eels that are released in the southeast from Asia. They breathe air and can survive on land.
