New Showbiz Analysis

And Then There Was You is a character-driven film that focuses on resilience and the dismantling of the idealized domestic unit. It steers clear of conventional romantic archetypes by centering on the aftermath of betrayal and the instability of the nuclear family. By emphasizing the protagonist's emotional recovery and female autonomy, the film achieves a moderate progressive stance. It moves away from Western-centric romantic clichés to highlight the unique African context of the story. Despite its strengths, the film does not explore multi-layered themes or provide representation of characters with disabilities.
