New Showbiz Analysis

Express is a localized comedy that emphasizes a character-driven journey over social critique. The film succeeds in moving away from Western-centric norms by focusing on a North Caucasus setting and protagonist. However, the narrative relies on traditional structures and gender roles. It lacks intentionality regarding diverse identities or the subversion of established social hierarchies. Ultimately, the film functions as a specific cultural study of individual ability to act and luck rather than a tool for systemic critique.
