New Showbiz Analysis

Honor Thy Father is a gritty crime thriller that focuses on systemic issues rather than identity-based representation. By grounding its narrative in a specific, non-Western context, it offers a strong post-colonial perspective. Though the film lacks diversity in LGBTQ+ and gender subversion, it challenges traditional moral hierarchies by depicting criminal behavior as a response to corruption. The story’s impact comes from its portrayal of family survival against oppressive systems.
