New Showbiz Analysis

RAGE follows the conventions of the thriller genre, focusing on themes of trauma, survival, and retribution. The narrative structure centers around a domestic unit, emphasizing the psychological aftermath of a violent home invasion. While the film offers a potential shift in traditional gender roles through the wife's character development, it generally sticks to established archetypes. The emphasis is on individual psychological responses to violence rather than a broad exploration of intersecting identities. Overall, the movie lacks the specific character details or diverse casting needed to go beyond typical genre clichés. It functions primarily as a character study of revenge rather than a vehicle for progressive representation.
