New Showbiz Analysis

The Inflicted operates within the strict confines of psychological horror, relying heavily on established cinematic conventions. The story prioritizes individual pathology and predatory masculinity over any meaningful systemic critique or diverse storytelling. Rather than challenging familiar patterns, the film uses them to drive a conventional thriller plot. The narrative structure reinforces traditional power dynamics, particularly through the lens of victimhood and domestic replacement. Ultimately, the work lacks the intentionality needed to disrupt standard archetypes. It functions as a genre piece that adheres to conventional, rather than innovative, narrative frameworks.
