Casting a Black woman as the lead normalizes Black romance in a genre often dominated by white narratives. The ensemble includes diverse ethnicities, reflecting contemporary Black and Asian-American culture without relying on stereotypes.

The film upholds traditional Western institutions, validating monogamy and conventional holiday spirit. It embraces commercial Christmas sentiments and clear moral binaries, lacking systemic critique or moral nuance found in more progressive media.

No visible or invisible disabilities are represented among the primary cast or in the plot. Characters are able-bodied, and conflicts are purely emotional. The narrative completely ignores the experiences of disabled individuals.
