Areas for Improvement

  • Reliance on male-driven vigilantism limits female agency in the resolution.
  • Lack of representation for LGBTQ+ identities or non-cisnormative characters.
  • Absence of characters with physical or neurodivergent disabilities.

AI Analysis

Rakhi serves as a transitional narrative that uses commercial tropes to condemn regressive social practices. By framing the protagonist's violence as a response to the lethal greed of the dowry system, the film disrupts the expectation of female passivity. While the film critiques systemic victimization, it relies heavily on a male-driven vigilante arc. This prevents a higher score in gender agency, as social justice is achieved through masculine force rather than collective female empowerment. The film excels in regional authenticity, focusing on specific South Indian social dynamics and cultural identities rather than globalized media standards.
