AI Analysis
Annapolis is a traditionalist coming-of-age drama that prioritizes institutional stability and masculine archetypes. The film's structure reinforces established hierarchies, focusing heavily on the protagonist's journey through a male-dominated military environment. While the ensemble provides a moderate level of racial inclusion that reflects a modern military, the narrative does not use this diversity to drive systemic change. Instead, the characters exist within a rigid, conventional social landscape. Ultimately, the film adheres to conventional romantic and cultural structures. It emphasizes Western values of duty and discipline, leaving little room for non-cisnormative identities or diverse cultural explorations.
