AI Analysis
SODA: le rêve américain offers a nuanced look at youth identity by subverting the typical 'American Dream' narrative. It succeeds in presenting a multicultural social fabric that feels contemporary and authentic. However, the film remains tethered to traditional storytelling structures regarding gender and sexuality. The female characters lack independent agency, functioning mostly to drive the male protagonist's emotional development. Ultimately, the film's strength lies in its social commentary on academic and domestic instability, even if it misses opportunities for broader representation in other categories.
