Racial & Ethnic Diversity

  • The inclusion of worry dolls introduces non-Anglo-Saxon cultural motifs into the horror framework.

Areas for Improvement

  • Cultural elements are used as plot devices rather than providing deep, high-agency character representation.
  • There is a lack of meaningful representation for characters with physical or neurodivergent disabilities.

AI Analysis

The film is a genre-driven horror piece that prioritizes supernatural tropes over social commentary. While it avoids a purely Anglo-centric perspective by using Latin American folklore, it lacks intersectional depth. Representation is largely superficial, relying on cultural motifs to drive the plot rather than developing diverse, high-agency characters. The narrative follows standard horror conventions without disrupting social hierarchies. Ultimately, the film functions as a creature feature where cultural elements serve the premise rather than providing meaningful systemic inclusion.
