AI Analysis
Baby is a progressive work that utilizes a specialized lens to examine intersectional identities. By centering queer survival and highlighting the agency of those on the fringes of the legal order, the film successfully challenges conventional societal hierarchies. The narrative's strength lies in its sophisticated treatment of queer desire and its critique of institutionalized structures. It replaces traditional family models with the concept of chosen family, providing a nuanced look at marginalized communities. While the film offers a strong localized perspective, the specific racial identities of the ensemble remain undefined. This leaves a slight gap in the explicit representation of the socio-economic and ethnic textures of São Paulo.
