AI Analysis

The Unholy functions as a genre-driven critique of institutional religious authority. It succeeds in subverting traditional hierarchies by positioning a female lead against deceptive male leadership, providing a strong sense of agency for its protagonist. However, the film's impact is limited by a lack of intersectional depth. The casting remains largely homogeneous, and the narrative fails to engage with LGBTQ+ identities or disability representation. Ultimately, while the film offers a compelling deconstruction of spiritual leadership, its narrow demographic scope prevents a more inclusive viewing experience.
