New Showbiz Analysis

Night of the Pumpkin operates as a conventional slasher that heavily relies on established genre clichés. While it centers the plot around women and allows them to take significant roles, it does not introduce meaningful diversity in other areas. The film lacks visible racial or ethnic diversity and does not depict LGBTQ+ identities or non-traditional gender identities. It also does not engage with diverse cultural perspectives or offer social critiques. Ultimately, the work prioritizes survival horror over diverse storytelling, lacking the intentionality needed to disrupt social hierarchies.
