Last Resort is a comedy that finds its strength in challenging traditional gender roles. While the plot centers on a family vacation, the narrative structure emphasizes women's desire and autonomy over a male-centric perspective. However, the film remains limited by a lack of depth in representing diverse identities. The casting is largely homogeneous, and the story lacks representation for LGBTQ+ individuals or characters with disabilities. Ultimately, the film functions as a study of personal leisure rather than a systemic critique, remaining anchored in traditional casting patterns despite its focus on female liberation.
