The Order is a conventional action-adventure film that emphasizes genre clichés over social complexity. The narrative structure reinforces traditional hierarchies, centered around a male protagonist and a heterosexual romance. Although the Jerusalem setting provides a multicultural backdrop, the casting and character roles remain narrow. The film leans on established cinematic archetypes, particularly regarding religious factions, rather than offering nuanced or multi-layered perspectives. Ultimately, the film operates as a standard commercial adventure. It lacks the intentionality needed to challenge systemic power dynamics or provide meaningful representation for underrepresented identities.
