Synopsis

Two years after the phenomenal success of the documentary Demain, Cyril Dion looks back at the projects the film inspired. He is accompanied by Laure Noualhat, a renowned investigator and sceptic of the ability of micro-initiatives to have any real impact in the face of climate change. Their humorous confrontation pushes them to their limits: what works, what fails? What if all this forces us to invent a new narrative for humanity?

AI Analysis

Après Demain succeeds as a systemic critique, moving beyond simple environmentalism to challenge the very foundations of Western institutional power. Its strength lies in its intellectual architecture, which pits optimism against skepticism to deconstruct traditional models of progress. The film's cultural impact is driven by its emphasis on decentralized, grassroots initiatives. By highlighting localized agency, it avoids a purely Anglo-Saxon or Western-centric worldview, offering a more globalized perspective on survival. However, the documentary remains largely conceptual regarding individual identities. While it challenges broad societal structures, it lacks specific, visible representation for LGBTQ+ individuals or people with disabilities.
