New Showbiz Analysis

Overheard is a well-crafted genre thriller that effectively deconstructs the moral boundaries between law enforcement and criminal activity. Its strength lies in its sophisticated critique of how systemic structures and capital shape human behavior. However, the film maintains a traditional demographic composition, focusing on a rigid masculine framework without incorporating progressive identity frameworks to enhance its narrative structure. Despite offering a deep psychological study of corruption, the film lacks diverse representation across gender, sexuality, and disability.
