New Showbiz Analysis

By stripping the husband of his heroic status and focusing on the protagonist's active investigation, the film offers a more nuanced look at women's ability to drive the story within a troubled marriage. However, the film's narrow socioeconomic and ethnic perspective limits its scope. The lack of racial and LGBTQ+ representation confines the narrative to a very specific demographic. Overall, the film operates as a typical Western domestic drama, emphasizing individual psychological struggles over broader social critiques.
