AI Analysis

47 Meters Down is a traditional genre thriller that prioritizes survivalist tension over intersectional depth. While it avoids the 'damsel in distress' trope by giving its female leads agency, the narrative remains narrow in scope. The film relies on a conventional Western-centric casting model and lacks meaningful engagement with diverse identities. It functions primarily as a straightforward struggle against nature rather than a vehicle for social or cultural commentary.
