AI Analysis

Edge functions as a Western deconstruction that uses the historical setting of 1865 to critique systemic power. The narrative prioritizes individual agency and the interrogation of authority over idealized historical depictions. While the film avoids high-level intersectional complexity, its focus on uncovering institutional corruption provides a layer of moral complexity. The storytelling moves away from traditional, stable depictions of post-war reconstruction. Ultimately, the film relies on established genre archetypes, particularly regarding gender and romantic structures, which limits its overall diversity impact.
