Pottersville relies on a traditional comedic structure that centers on a singular male protagonist. The narrative focuses on a localized conflict regarding a Bigfoot hoax and its economic impact on a small town. The film adheres to conventional storytelling clichés rather than disrupting social hierarchies. It lacks the depth or diverse casting necessary to move beyond a baseline representation of American rural life. Ultimately, the film prioritizes situational comedy over systemic critique or the inclusion of underrepresented identities.

Official Synopsis
Maynard, a beloved local businessman is mistaken for the legendary Bigfoot during an inebriated romp through town in a makeshift gorilla costume. The sightings set off an international Bigfoot media spectacle and a windfall of tourism dollars for a simple American town hit by hard times. When Brock Masterson, reality TV’s “Monster Hunter,” arrives to hunt the beast, Maynard agonizes over whether to come clean, destroying the rebirth of his beloved town, or perpetuate the inadvertent hoax.
